Kansas City Area Wide Chapter of Parents Of Murdered Children

About Us

Why we are here

  • To support persons who survive the violent death of someone close as they seek to recover.
  • To provide contact with similarly bereaved persons and to establish self-help groups that meet regularly.
  • To provide information about the grieving process and the criminal justice system as they pertain to survivors of a homicide victim.
  • To communicate with professionals in the support fields about the problems experienced by those surviving a homicide victim.
  • To increase society's awareness of these problems.

We provide a speakers bureau and also an impact panel to various organizations. We speak to Impact of Crime on Victim  classes in area prisons and rehabilitation facilites. We also work closely with the local Police Departments, parole Boards and Officers, Attorney General's Office, and other victim organizations. We provide court accompaniment when requested and for out of town members attending trial in the area.
